Well I could see a first class award seat available on expert flyer but every time I called AA, they would say that there was no availability in first class.

Finally, I just got off the phone with the EXP desk and it seems that we can no longer (well since October) get F awards on El Al flights with Aadvantage miles. Award availability is open to us in W (business) and J (coach) but not P (first). So even if P is available, it cannot be booked with an aadvantage award.

Slightly annoyed by this. Are there any other awards that may be available that we cannot get through aadvantage? I guess premium economy is one but that is because American doesnt offer a premium economy. I just think that if the award is available and I am willing to spend the miles on it, I should be able to get it.

Sorry, rant over. Just wondered if others have encountered this and if there is any work around?
