I have a personal AMEX Platinum Card, and I was reading the Departures magazine that I get from AMEX every couple of months as such, and they had a brief listing of some of the travel benefits.

One of the benefits they listed of course is the car rental insurance, and I was quite surprised to see that the car rental insurance is primary coverage outside of North America. The other surprise was a short list of excluded countries, that included Ireland among others (a country I hope to visit in the not too distant future).

Are all AMEX cards like this (such as my Corporate Green Card), with primary coverage outside of the US?

Hmmm ... I just checked AMEX's website, and they list Italy, Australia, and New Zealand as the three excluded countries, and not Irleand, but this wouldn't be the first time their website is not up to date in my experience ...
