A friend of mine stayed their accidentally once, first they double booked her room, and then when she went out for the day, and she came back to her room, she found ALL of her possessions gone. When she went to the desk, they told her, they assumed she left them behind as no one really stays there for any length of time, it is more of a rent by the hour kind of thing. (LOL LOL)
All of her stuff including her laptop were gone, they weren't even put into lost and found to be hopefully claimed. They were GONE which meant "distributed to the housekeeper staff or anyone else who wanted it" . They did nothing to accommodate her or reimburse her except refund her one day at the hotel,.
Best to avoid the Golden Spike.
(oh, this just happened in August of 2009 by the way....)
She left an unsecured laptop in her room? I wouldn't do that at the Bellagio.
