Did you look at the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum? Didn't think so.

Just go to UA's website at www.united.com, hover your mouse over "Mileage Plus" (near top) and click on "Earn Miles" or "Redeem Miles". Any activity (earning or redemption) will reset the expiration clock 18 months forward, but the easiest and quickest thing is to donate 1,000 miles to a charity via the UA website (on the "Redeem Miles" page). Should take effect instantly.

(Don't bother with the UA Shopping Mall -- takes too long to post. Yeah, it SHOULD work, but you won't get a warm & fuzzy feeling from it -- that is, from the instant gratification of resetting your expiry date!
