Flying RDU-IAD-DEN-SAN on 11/30.

On RDU-IAD we push back 4 minutes early and taxi out only to be told we have a 30 minute wait for ATC in IAD. At the end of that we're told it's an additional 45 minute ground stop. After that they say 15 more minutes until we take off. We finally arrive in IAD over an hour late, naturally I'd misconnected.

Phone agent protected me on the next flight, I ran and made it by about a minute. Ended up in SAN two hours later than I was supposed to.

Checked my UAL account today and they'd deposited 9,000 "Customer Service Bonus Miles" unsolicited. A very nice gesture for a weather/ATC delay.
