If you want dirt cheap and want to stay on the strip, then the Imperial Palace probably fits your criteria. For your dates, it's $25 a night (plus $3 in tax) and it's smack dab in the middle of everything. Rooms are Motel 6 quality, but if you're willing to stay at a hostel, then this should be fine for you.
