I always enjoyed staying at the downtown Marriott in Portland. Right across the street is a nice walking area on the river. It is not far from other attractions in the downtown Portland vicinity. Your wife will also enjoy the small shops on the riverfront. Also, some of the best omelettes are served in the American Grille.
