In my experience the family points transfer rules are handled a bit more flexible than what is written on paper. Who has transfered to whom this year already? If you transfered to her, then maybe she can still transfer to you? Also, you might just explain the situation and ask for an exemption to the once per year rule which might be granted.

Otherwise you can still split your booking and just put in an upgrade request for you your girlfriend.
