I think that's the extent of it. The bacon I had in the restaurant was a thick, slab style bacon. Somehow seasoning it with pepper takes it to a whole 'nother dimension - not sure how though
It's interesting how some other posters note finding it in the supermarkets. Perhaps it's a regional thing? (e.g. pork roll in the northeast)?
