You get used to the flies and at least they don't hurt you when they land on you. Now the dropbears are another matter. They do hurt, especially if they fall from the top of the tree.
A clean hit from a drop bear will put you in hospital for a few days, especially if it's a Tasmanian drop bear with the sharper fang like incisors.
