We had a full time nanny for almost 6 years and gave her a weeks salary at Christmas as well as personal Christmas gifts and took her out for a celebratory dinner. That is slightly different than in home daycare, but somewhere in the middle would seem appropriate. We now have part time help and I plan on getting her a gift card to her favorite store as well as extra on her check the last week she works for the year.
