Sometimes airlines will reward travelers who have shown loyalty to them over the years, so bear in mind that if you hop between FFPs, you won't be eligible for these rewards (if any).
In general, you'd be correct- but have you ever heard of any KF Gold Elite being rewarded with any loyalty bonus (upgrades, additional miles, other perks?)?
The "fly one flight and get Gold Elite status" renewed bonus doesn't count, because that was a calculated program to get people flying/crediting miles on KF again (in fact, it could be considered an "anti-loyalty" program- after all, why accumulate miles on KF if you can bonused in?!).
I would always recommend picking the airlines that best fits your schedule/routing/preferred service (for me that's typically SQ), but then crediting your miles to the best FFP that suits your needs (for me that's UA)...
