I have to disagree. OW Emerald (BA Gold) costs me a C-Class ticket DUS-LHR-NYC on BA for 2100 Euro plus an AA F-Class ticket NYC-SFO-LAS on AA for about 1000 USD. That's it. Full stop. I can't do that on Star*. I keep BA Gold just for the sake of BA's lounge open door policy to use their lounges in Germany when flying other airlines than LH.
