On the low side of average. Stayed there on a good rate, but even with printed confirmation they did not want to honor it. Necessary to involve a manager. Then charged for breakfast - rate included breakfast. Necessary to involve a different manager, who said they would make an exception this once. Remember I had a printed confirmation, which they photocopied "for their records". Then they charged my credit card for breakfast after the fact. Not nice.
Hotel is not in the best area - lots of street people (and not the colorful, upbeat kind), but we walked to the railway station which is a few blocks away. There is a shortage of decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so eating at the hotel or taking a taxi somewhere are probably best bets. Food at the hotel was unimpressive BTW. Rooms were small compared to other Marriotts in the UK - I guess you could say "traditional size". I understand from friends that the nearby Hilton is much nicer.
