I was in Egypt last week. Here's Egypt's view (much like Chile's and Turkey's): No photo, no application, just "show me the money." Hand over $15 and you get a visa sticker that takes over the whole page. Your passport will be stamped on that visa sticker upon entrance and exit from the Egypt.
