You can book on their website -- no need to talk to anyone. ANA has the best online reward booking engine of any airline in my opinion.
It usually takes 24-48 hrs for the points to appear (less than they claim). One annoyance though is that you cannot see the taxes for the ticket until the miles are in the account already. They do charge fuel surcharges, but the mileage requirement is so often much lower than any other airline that it's worth it (especially from the east coast to europe/africa/middle east).
