FWIW, we arrived in ICN on CX and were departing on OZ on two separate PNRs. We just showed up at the transit counter without leaving air-side and presented the CX baggage tags. The transit counter agent took care of the baggage transfer in addition to presenting us with our boarding pass for our onward journey. We were travelling in J, but I also saw a Y counter at the transfer desk, so the class of travel shouldn't really matter.

That said, the MCT for ICN is apparently 1hr 10 mins, so you may be cutting it too close:
