Leg room on row 18 seems about as much as on MD-80 exit rows. Underseat storage is like on the rest of the plane - it has to fit under the seat in front of you. The underseat storage area is not noticably different from other coach seats.
Underseat storage does exist in the row 18 exit row (unlike row 9/10A/10F) and is permitted on AA (unlike some other airlines like BA and Iberia).
