It is true that you can gift MQM with the Reserve Card. But only if you have earned MQMs by hitting a spending threshold. As the primary cardholder, you wouldn't need your wife to gift them to you, you could give them to yourself. You don't do it over the phone-- once you earn the threshold, you can log in to your SM account and assign them to yourself. But you have to reach the spending threshold in order to give any MQM as a gift. With the Reserve Card, you can earn 15K MQM for $30K and another 15K MQM for hitting $60K.

You cannot simply purchase MQM and give them away, and neither can your wife.
