Hyatt all the way! Shangri-la is ancient and whilst on the west lake as well just way too far from everything else. Hyatt rooms are new (opened in 2005 or so) hence modern luxury piled with best view of west lake in town! I stay there myself 5 times a year on business and its' great to walk by the lake in the hazy mornings!
