I didn't notice a fly problem in Australia since February until I went to Perth last week... got swarmed with flies as soon as I walked out of the airport.

Similarly in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne the flies are out in big numbers... the locals say it may have something to do with the moisture that has been dominating the weather forecast the past few weeks.
