Out here in Victoria, BC we only have maybe 1,300 cars between all the agencies in town (maybe less now as both Dollar-Thrifty and Discount packed it in this year), so it's very common for all the agencies to sell out around holiday weekends. Similar case in Edmonton (where I used to live) where the agencies would sell out after snowstorms due to insurance claims. When you absolutely need a car this feature can be VERY handy.
