How does CO allocate the Bassinet positions?

Hello,

I have a transatlantic EDI > EWR > EDI flight booked on a 752 next year.

My wife is pregnant and the baby will be 9 weeks old when we fly.

CO cant add on the infant until he/she is born, which is fair enough. I am just wondering about the bassinet positions. Will they hard allocate it to us when I phone through with the infant details? Or is it a 'request' that might be filled at the 72 hours system as like the uk airlines?

Also, if there are a few babies on the flight, how do CO decide who gets to sit in the bassinet seat?

If anyone has any other baby flying tips or answers to questions I should have asked, that would also be very appreciated.

thanks
