Apart from the somewhat dramatic episode retold above by TrophyCollector we were not impressed by Air Seychelles after our trip in December-January 2007-2008. The trip down was ok I guess but on the way back home hell broke loose because of a truck at CDG that for some reason crashed in to the Air Seychelles plane that we were supposed to fly home with. With such a small fleet it took them two days to find a plane that could do the flight. By then the turmoil at SEZ was complete.

It is not that Air Seychelles is all that bad or not safe enough, it is more about the fact that when you are booked on a small airline like that you are exposed to a bigger risk that if you fly, say EK or QR.

On our honey moon I really want to minimize the risk of beeing stuck somewhere because of drunk airport personnel at CDG or SEZ.

The chartering idea is interesting. I will look it up.

Also, I have to apologize for calling Singita Boulders "Safari Light". That was nice evidence of what luxury problems we are dealing with here! Singita is of course a place that almost everyone on this planet can only dream about. What I was trying to do, but perhaps failed, was to compare Wilderness Safaris in Botswana with Singita.
