ZEST AIR - My experiences so far

Zest Air is an airline based in the Philippines. www.zestair.com.ph

I have booked 3 tickets with Zest Air online. The online booking process was painless and the website was pretty simple to navigate.

The first booking was for a flight from Zamboanga, Mindanao to Sandakan, Sabah. 2 weeks prior to departure I received an email informing me that the flight was cancelled due to "operational requirements". I asked to be rebooked for another date and was told that it was not available. The airline seems to be saying that the route is cancelled but will not confirm this. The problem is that Zest Air is the only airline that flies this route. I now have to reroute from Zamboanga to Manila to Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan. A major deal!

My second booking is a Roundtrip flight from Cagayan de Oro to Cebu. Flight cancelled due to "operational requirements". Again, no information forthcoming but at least there are two other airlines that ply this route.

Lastly, I received an email stating that my Clark to Manila flight was cancelled due to "operational requirements". Then the next day, I received another email saying the flight is operating again.

Am I the only one having this experience? and if not - what do you think "operational requirements" mean?

Zest indeed!
