My child went to a daycare for several years and typically we gave a x-mas present ranging from $20-$75 (cash or target gift card) depending on their level of involvement with my child and if they were the full time teacher in that class or just part time assistants. Other parents did similar or just gave beauty product type of gifts. We never gave any gifts to the director or anyone who did not have direct child care duties.

I never had a nanny but I would probably give a gift equivalent to one week salary.
