This is where you lose me Mr. Ice. First, SPG should be complimented in pro-actively seeking out reports of upgrade failures, as opposed to Marriott which appears not to be interested. Second, when such failures occur and are reported, the Lurker generally deals with it; doesn't ignore it. Third, what do you, based on your own experience, think the size of a comparable Marriott thread would be? Like you, I believe Marriott Rewards' biggest problem is its failure to enforce the upgrade policy for platinums set out in the program's rules, resulting in the lies all too often heard at the front desk. The key to fixing this problem is not to attack another program which pro-actively deals with its properties' failures, but to insist that our favorite program keep the faith with its best customers.
