To be fair, the official lurker on the Starwood board proactively asked which properties have not lived up to their commitment. The results, however, paint a far different picture of the SPG upgrade benefit than that painted by some posters here in the Marriott forum. It doesn't sound like Starwood is doing any better keeping their word on guaranteed platinum upgrades than Marriott. To those who are tempted by the repeated calls to abandon Marriott for Starwood due to the allegedly better upgrade opportunities, I recommend reading through those seven pages of posts from disappointed SPG platinums.
