on 9/21/09 I was able to download a 350MB movie file while on AA1341 ORD-SFO (I was napping in my MD80 F seat) which is pretty good performance, considering the total flight time was only 4hrs, and therefore total >10k ft altitude time was around 3 hrs.

Didn't check the average KB/sec speed unfortunately.
