Wish they knew who I was! If they had any guts or more importantly integrity they would make contact directly. I would love to tell them what I think. I would be happy to tell them about all the years at their properties and the multitude of times that they didn't live up to their commitments.
I'd tell them about all the times I've driven the extra miles to stay in their properties, when a competitor was right around the corner. I'd remind them that the first real job I ever had was working for Marriott and how I had the good fortune to meet Bill Marriott and his father when he was still alive. I'd also mention the profound effect it had on me as a 16 year old.
I'd then go on to thank them for inspiring me to stay in school and go on to become a VP of a Fortune 500 Company, which was in so small way because of the principles I learned working for Marriott. I'd then go on to tell them how I am not giving 100% of my business (anymore) to Marriott and why!
So thanks for your suggestion that they may now know who I am, but I would be willing to bet that now they do they don't take the time or more importantly make an effort to try and save this relationship, because that would take some work and I don't believe that they will.
