Compensation levels reduced?

I tried to get compensated for a terrible First experience for me and the mrs (very long story) and we got a measly 12,500 miles each in compensation.
Not sure they'll get my business again if that's how they treat First passengers.

Interestingly, when I complained, BA CR wrote back:

"Like many other companies, British Airways has been affected by the current recession. The whole airline industry has witnessed a significant downturn, which will take years to recover from. We are working very hard to make our business competitive and sustainable for the future. This is why we have had to take the decision to reduce our compensation levels as a result. In instances where we fail to deliver, we will always consider the individual merits of a case and award compensation accordingly."
