The new crew ratio for the 777 3 class (24W 203M) which I do admit is the lowest but also the growing fleet is 5 crew, that is 1 crew for 45.4 customers.
As one of the crew works in the rear galley each one of the 4 crew in the cabin has to serve 56.7 customers each.
Lets compare this to Virgin and BMI, facts please.
I was under the impression that Virgin operate with 14 on the 747, but if I'm wrong in that then I apologise.
VS have two 744 configs - 56J/62W/200Y (318) and 44J/32W/306Y (382)
BA also have two 744 configs - 14F/70J/30W/177Y (291) and 14F/52J/36W/227Y (329)
It still doesn't change the fact that 'working one down' has been going on for years apparently entirely safety and that Gatwick have worked with reduced crewing levels, again entirely safely (and with similar customer satisfaction).
As more and more people are saying, it's the attitude of the CSD which is making these changes work or not.
