If BA did want to tighten up on this perhaps one way would be to give GCH's a certain number of vouchers which they can use to gain access to the BA lounge in the same way as Open Doors works now. Once you've used your vouchers up for the year they've gone.

There are some very valuable pax who make use of this every single week.
Why not complete your circle, if you are going to allow BA members to sell their vouchers back to BA why not just charge them for it in the first place.
That would also solve the problem of excess guests.
However to the BA lurkers: I value the occasional sit down and pepsi when I'm flying someone else quite a lot, it is one of the primary benefits of my Gold card to me. If you take it away I will not be flying with you half as much as I do now, never mind any crazy ideas that this will make people fly you more.
And while I value it, I'm not mad. I don't value it at 20 GBP a go, etc.
Yes I may make use of the internet etc every so often, but they are few and far between...
