I wonder if some of the commentary (not this one necessarily) on this and other forums has caused YYZ to beef up monitoring of this? Just a few days ago I went through fine as SE, while a friend of mine with no status - but on a J ticket - was intercepted & sent over to the regular line.

Funny thing was it was 5 am and no one in either line... so the diversion clearly had nothing to do with keep either of the lines moving.
