Need advice on Kauai Marriot Resort (hotel) vs Timeshare unit
Okay, next April 2004 (Easter weekend), we have an award res (78k points) for 3 nights in hotel (1 room 2 beds) at Kauai Marriott Resort. I noticed that for 75K points (less), we can actually get a 1 bedroom at the Marriott Vacation Club at Kauai Resort. I'd like to go with the 1 BR obviously. We have 2 kids age 14 and 15. Any comparisons between the 2 types of resorts? Each time I call the 1 800 Villas 9 number, they tell me to call back and that the 1 br units are not yet available. We like ocean front units when we stay in Hawaii. Our 3 night res is for the ocean front also (we have to pay $60 per night for the upgrade). Any experience w/ timeshare units and chance of ocean view? I've done a very thorough search in past threads on the subject of Kauai Marriotts for those wondering and didn't find the info I'm after.
