Thanks for the tips. MAD from ORD seems no-go, is about the same, right around the $800 mark on Iberia. Contemplated the ORD-SJU flights, but the few cheap ones ($250 a.i.) route thru Miami (ugh) on weekdays only and are a long day. I confess I just don't have the fortitude to do 2 back-to-back days thru MIA to save $200. Hope that statement doesn't get me banned from MR forum! Non-stops range from $350-$450. Considering Hawaii too, as fares to KOA are a bit cheaper ($710 a.i.) w/ layover in LAX. Wonder about hotel costs there, tho.
