I was flying DFW-AUS not quite a month ago and was sitting in a row behind some of the University of Iowa women's golf team*. They had been talking about wanting internet access so I mentioned to them that our aircraft had it. It turned out that Gogo was free due to a billing problem or something, although I was going to mention the Lexus promotion if needed. One of them got out her computer and pulled up ESPN360.com. My neighbor and I watched the UT game through the seat gap for some 10 minutes or so**.
I hadn't brought my computer with me for this very short trip, so it was a welcome bit of IFE. Perhaps if there was Gogo on the ERD too I would have.
* They watched their clubs being tossed onto the conveyor belt through the window.
** I have no idea why they put that on, UT was playing Oklahoma State. Iowa's game was already over as I recall. They must really like football.
