Through 12/31, Hertz is offering Double Credit on weekend rentals and $10 off per day. Assuming one completed 1 rental per weekend day, 3 rentals per weekend, and with 6 weekends left, 18 potential weekend rentals remain worth 1 credit each. Assuming an average all-in cost of $16 per rental * 18 rentals = $288. This leaves me in need of 7 additional points. Assuming 7 additional 1 day rentals @ $18 all-in and 1/2 credit each, I end up with an all-in cost of $414 for 37.5 credits or 2.34 round trip rewards. I will also accrue enough points to attain CP status. Cost per credit is $11.04 which is below my normal valuation which is $16 per WN credit. For $414 worth of Avis weekly rentals credited to DL, I would have approximately 3 rentals or 15,000 total miles accrued. While I would possess a car for more days, 2.76 CPM is not that great of a deal. OTOH, this http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12324526-post312.html is more attractive. Nonetheless, I like WN's promotion and the timing of the launch.

Mrp Alert and others can probably testify to this, just with regard to the rental car partner promos over the last year. Fortunately, in his case, he can probably work the keys on his vendors' keyboards by now. The point: It might be a good idea to concentrate your earnings, and with reliable partners, as much as possible.
The only 2010 Hertz bonus points promotions that I have seen are yuckier than this years - $10 off a 2 day weekend rental with double points & $5 off per weekend day & double DL miles which I presume WN will emulate. If another partner copies the Hertz offer for 1 day rentals, I will jump all over it. As January is busy for me, I will be maximizing my WN crediting during Nov/Dec and waiting to see what comes out in 2010. Incidentally, Hertz has a great system for reprinting past receipts in the event that you do not receive your WN credit.
