Not sure about the train option. Getting from CAN to GZ Central or GZ East station can be a pain, at least an hour in a taxi depending on traffic. I have also experienced being unable to get a train for at least an hour when I got there as all seats were booked. If OP has no Chinese, railway station can be a bit daunting and the scrum for tickets hard to handle with luggage
