I am currently an owner in Villas I, so I am admittedly partial to that property. It seems that the units have gotten smaller with each new property. I have been in the Villas II units, but not Shadow Ridge. Shadow Ridge is the newest and I read that the Enclaves has expanded the lock-out unit to include appliances and more room. So, you might want to check that out.

Apparently, Villas I is in negotiation with the owners of the JW Marriott concerning access to the amenities at the hotel for Villas I owners. Based on the survey I received, it sounds like negotiations are not going well, so there may be no access by February. And, yes, February can be pool weather in Palm Desert.
