After getting to Gold, it's a whole different world.

P.S. they give very [newly designed] durable baggage tags (http://www.fjiii.com/cx_gold_tags.html) to all members.
At the present time with my travel patterns, I don't think gold is viable. As for silver, don't really know.. Right now I am considering the very option of moving.. Thought of trying it for a whole year just to see how it goes. By the way, about the "Frequent Visitor e-Channels", the funny thing is they have just started offering it to all KF Gold and PPS members..

And what a tough choice that is.. Personally I do care for lounge services, but since I travel mostly in C or F, I don't think it is that big of a deal.. What is the big deal is whether or not I can get Gold once I have flown with them.. Does anyone know whether they have extra 25% or 50% more mileage accruals by being Silver, Gold, or Diamond?

I have since enjoyed more upgrades than I care to count, guaranteed seating (something I used on a number of occasions).

After 3 years as a DM, I will let it lapse however as my business does not take me straight to Oneworld. Star is still most practical in Singapore so I will continue with them. This being said, I thought just being Silver was great for the biz class seating. I loved the CX product but I find the constant stopover in HKG a pain. So back to direct flight or via TG which will save me some time to Europe.
I won't use the word extensively.. I am changing my routes but traveling is still the same pattern with SQ these days, that is 2x R/T to asia in C per year although sometimes in F which makes me able to round up around 55k to 60k of *A miles a year thus maintaining KF Gold. On the other hand, if I should decide to move to CX, with my travel plans, I am short of around 16k to Gold. Something I am seriously thinking, because the Gold benefit seems far greater than SQ.

But as you said, moving to CX means also moving home base and most of the time, SIN is that place where my family and I would meet by the time I go down to Asia and CX doesn't have any SIN-SUB flight unless its SIN-HKG-SUB.. Living in PDX is also a problem since all flights to SFO/LAX only with AA needs to make a transit in DFW.. or take a direct flight with Alaska on their CR7..

Changing seems to be a hard decision to do if you don't know what lies ahead...
