In the early 1990's I had a few free stays at the STOUFFER Waiohai Hotel on Poipu - I assume that this is the same place?? That part of Kauai took a real beating during Hurricane Iniki shortly thereafter.

I liked the hotel alot but as I recall the beach was more rocky than sandy.

As an interesting sidenote the free hotel stays were a result of free vouchers issued in conjunction with USAir coach awards, I'm fairly certain that hotel AND car rental vouchers were thrown in when redeeming air rewards back then. Those were the days!
