Sometimes airlines will reward travelers who have shown loyalty to them over the years, so bear in mind that if you hop between FFPs, you won't be eligible for these rewards (if any).
Really? Will SQ do that for me? I don't know.. Somehow I doubt it..

The biggest advantage to CX Gold is the guaranteed seat feature.
CX guarantees an economy class seat in a mileage earning class as long as you book it within 72 hours. Would SQ do that for you? Hahahaha!
Great when you want to book a V class mileage earning fare around Christmas and New Year... and when CX tells you that the waiting list is closed, just say you're a Gold member and the seat is miraculously confirmed for you?
CX elite members are also allowed to hold premium economy class seats ie emergency exit row without charge.
The biggest plus would be that you'd be op up'd occasionally whereas on SQ, it will be very very rare.
If I have lots of time, I can do MRs.. Unfortunately I don't... Is it still a good move to CX? I'm intrigued about the 'extension' you're referring to.. How many times can they offer it?
They said they'll give me silver but can't go with Gold yet.. That isn't anything much unless I can get gold.. Even if I fly F R/T 2x a year to asia won't be enough...
