Last time I stayed at an Element, I followed a bug to one of the cabinets, and found a previous guest's unused groceries. They must have been there for a while, because the expiration date on one item (a half-eaten bag of potato chips) was two weeks in the past.

At least it explained the Indian cooking smell, which I thought had been wafting from the room below mine.

(I brought it to the front desk's attention, mostly because I used a trash can in the lobby to dispose of the old food. They did the Service Recovery Through Bare-Faced Lying thing where they tell you that they put Starpoints in your account, but the points never actually show up.)
