If we are, in fact, talking about the Washington Marriott on 22nd, then I'm afraid I have to give it a big thumbs down. I'm not hard to please, and I typically have nothing negative to say about any of the Marriott brands, but I stayed at the Washington Marriott for business in May, and had a generally terrible stay. The walls of my room were so thin that I could hear the couple next door having sex all night (not that there's anything inherently bad about having sex in a hotel room, but I don't want to hear it when I have an 8am meeting).

Additionally (and this is by far the most egregious offense), the front desk folks were incredibly rude and condescending to me. I should mention that I am only 25 and I look like I'm 17, but that doesn't give anyone the right to treat me like garbage. I'm a Marriott Silver member, and I spend quite a bit of my own and my company's money at Marriotts, so the least I deserve is to be treated respectfully despite my age. I worked as a front desk person at a Residence Inn during a summer in college, so I'm acutely aware of how disspiriting it can be to have that job, and as such, I am nothing but polite to the front desk.

Sorry for the tirade, but since the Washington Marriott is really the only Marriott where I have ever had a negative experience, I thought I'd get it off my chest.

This is truly shocking for me to hear!

I have been there often and was again just a few weeks ago. I have always found the Wash DC Marriott folks to be just super.

They, like many of the area Marriotts, have many trainees from Asia on 18 month contracts, often from the Philipines, and it seems they are universally excellent in my experience!

Ken, who I believe is the Fronk Desk supervisor/manager has always been just superb! There is another gentleman from Az, who is also great, IMHO (Perhaps Matt?)

Is there perhaps more to the story?

I'm sorry to hear that you felt this way having received subpar treatment and were not pleased in any case.

I would urge you to try again!
