Having traveled in the front on business for a number of years on UA, I can say that the notion that US carriers don't occasionally oversell the premium cabins for yield management purposes is a laughable one. They do, period. The fact that there may not be a lot of threads on FT griping about it is hardly scientific proof that it doesn't happen, as some here have tried to suggest.
