Just a side note - washing hands with soap and hot water in itself does not render hands clear of infection. There are still plenty of pathogens left over that can cause infection if you put those fingers in the wrong place. It just reduces the count and moves a good number of them off the skin's surface.
If CO was truly concerned about swine flu transmission, they would add alcohol (65% or greater) gel dispensers to the lavs - that is the only way to really reduce the chance of infection.
