It was WT+ out, Club back. He was downgraded from WT+ to Y. So he gets 75% of what?

He should get 75% back on that segment. Back in the days of paper tickets, the fare construction was printed right on the ticket, and you could easily see what the cost was for each segment. With E-tickets, that info is less visible, but still exists somewhere. It might be available somewhere when checking the itin online.
