Well I spent yesterday in Beijing Airport taking a three hour delay because a big blue 747 had to have clear air space, apron space etc en route to Seoul. However, a quick look at the Hilton Beijing airport looked like it would not make its opening this side of Christmas.

It looks as if they have really slowed down construction - perhaps it is a credit crunch thing, but it really hasn't looked much different on the five trips I've made to China this year.

Ended up in the downtown Hilton, where they treated me royally. Am now in the Shanghai Hilton - again, splendid service and an upgrade.
