Thank you for your concern for my wife, and apologies for not wording my original message better (which I wrote late at night, after talking to her). What I meant to say was that she suspected there was something wrong with the CX chicken rice immediately after eating it. The severe stomach cramps did indeed come on around 6-7 hours later, which is why the hotel had to call a doctor out in the middle of the night (for those interested, the only other meal she'd eaten that day was in the office canteen--about 12-13 hours earlier).

Anyway, hope Cathay will look into the case. Would be interesting to know if it was just an isolated case or there were also other passengers taken ill after taking that flight.
